This is a great interview with Canadian photographer Garth Lenz about his work documenting the proposed oil pipeline that would have run from the tar sands region of northern Alberta down through the Midwest of the United States. Lenz’s powerful photography directly impacted the support to oppose the project by conveying how vital the Canadian boreal forest is to battling climate change and the dangerous effects of destroying the land.
