Leslie Von Pless

I work as the Senior Specialist, Multimedia Production for Environmental Defense Fund. I shoot and edit short documentaries, branded content, explainer videos and animations.  I’m also a part 107 licensed drone pilot. I previously worked as the Multimedia Producer for Lambda Legal and the Multimedia Manager for the Women’s Media Center.

As a freelancer, I work with other well-meaning organizations, and do my own independent documentary video and nature photography. I am an outdoor enthusiast; I love the Northeast and care deeply about the land, water, and wilderness of this region. Along with my mom, a painter, I run Von Pless Landscapes. We exhibit our work with the Central New York Art Guild and the Cooperstown Art Association.

My videos have been featured in Buzzfeed, Upworthy, People Magazine, Mic, Refinery 29, and other outlets. My short film created for Lambda Legal, Flying Solo, won the Grand Jury Award for Documentary Short at Outfest: The Los Angeles LGBT Film Festival and my independent short film, The Count, won the Best Amateur Film Award at the Wildlife Conservation Film Festival.

I live in the lower Hudson Valley, work in NYC, and grew up in Syracuse, NY. I received a B.S. in Digital Video Production from Fredonia State University.
